Effective Tips on How to Kill Fleas
One of the
common problems of homes with domestic pets on their custody is flea
infestation. This can even become a major problem if the fleas start to
roam around the living areas of the house and the pets are starting to
become sick because of flea-caused diseases. It is very much advisable
to treat the flea problem as soon as possible since it can also be a
health hazard to the household once the fleas start to move on your
personal belongings. There are various methods on how to keep away fleas
from your home such as dusting, fogging or spraying. However, these
simple extermination methods would not fully eliminate these annoying
insects.

There are
several important facts about fleas that you should determine in order
for you to formulate a strategy that can effectively eliminate these
pests. You should be aware that spraying would not solve the flea
problem immediately. It is very important to determine the key factors
that would significantly help figuring out the best anti-flea solution.
Like other insects, fleas undergo a four-stage life cycle namely egg,
larvae, pupa and adult stages. Within this life cycle, the flea would
have different attributes depending on the current stage on its life.
The main concern about the common extermination procedures is that the
pupa stage of the flea has stronger defense against fogging or spraying.
Therefore, even if you have done the necessary flea treatments, you
repeatedly see traces of fleas starting to grow again.
In
order for you to remove these annoying insects, make sure you choose
pest control products that contain active ingredient known as Insect
Growth Regulator or IGR. This anti-flea ingredient would effectively
prevent the growth development of fleas and at the same time reduce the
chance that they would reach the adult stage. It is also advisable to
vacuum clean your home every day for the whole duration of 21 days. This
routine is essential in removing the traces of fleas that would
eventually cause problems if left unattended. Keeping up the procedure
for the whole three weeks would ensure that no flea is going to survive
on your home.
You should
be aware that the IGR could only prevent the growth of fleas during the
three stages and not on the pupa stage. Although you can stop the eggs
from hatching into larva stage and larvae to turn into pupae with the
use of the IGR, it is much better to eliminate them on the entire life
cycle. Vacuuming can help suck up the pupae that are not affected by the
IGR ingredient.
Therefore,
you should always check the pest products that you would purchase for
the presence of IGR. There are foggers available in the market with IGR
that can effectively combine with the regular vacuuming to ensure that
you will have no worries about fleas returning on your home. You may

products.
